The
debut album that helped set the standard of synth albums to come. Wildly
original and with a strangely paranoid feel to it. Evoking the antiseptic 80s perhaps? |

The
last of the John Foxx records,
you can tell he was becoming a little dissatisfied with the group thing
and wanted to go solo. Which is what he did. But he did leave U-Vox with an intriguing album. |

Ohhhh,
Vienna . . . . what more needs to be said? THE Ultravox album. If
you don't have this, then you don't have a record collection. It's that good. Oh, and of course it's the first of the Midge years. |

A
solid effort with a couple great singles ('The Thin Wall,' 'The Voice').
Not very commerical, though, and it did nothing to break the band in the US. |

Great
album, produced by The Beatles'
legendary producer, George Martin. However, there's no bottom end on this. Very tinny. But the songs overcome this oversight. |

Apparently,
U-Vox did a film of the 1982
Quartet tour and released it as Monument. This is the soundtrack.
Never saw the movie, and since I never caught Ultravox in concert, I'm dying to find this sucker on VHS or DVD. (Hint, hint!) |

The
last great Ultravox album! After this, Midge
would be taunted by a solo career and would return for a very mediocre stab at one last U-Vox record. Should've ended it with this one. |

once, a record company hits it on all cylinders with a greatest hits collection!
EVERYTHING is here from the Midge years, painting a wonderful picture of 80's New Wave. A definite must have. |

Weak.
Half-hearted. Actually, just plain sad. Midge must
have been too wrapped up in his burgeoning solo career to fully commit to this mess. Should have quit while they were ahead. |

Billy

Another
stab at resurrecting one of the great 80's New Wave bands by original member,
Billy Currie. He almost succeeds, but Midge Ure's voice is too blatantly missing. |

||||||
A
live album taken from the Ingenuity tour. You can't really blame
Billy Currie for trying to keep U-Vox going, but since he's the only original member left, it is kinda sad. And you have to give him credit for going all the way back to the beginning with 'Slow Motion.' Not that this incarnation tarnishes the classic line-ups of U-Vox, it just doesn't do anything to add to the legend. |
