The
debut of the ultimate power pop band since Jellyfish!
Lush melodies, great production, and incredible songwriting make for a wonderful (sorry!) record. If you can find this one, do yourself a favour and pick it up! |

ANYBODY
that covers a Monkees
tune ('Porpoise Song') is very cool with me! Then to cover the title track to the Jane Fonda flick Barbarella, is the epitome of coolness. That's what's so great about Wondermints: they don't cater to anybody but themselves. This collection of cover tunes (to most people) sounds like a collection of originals, thanks to the choices (obscure) and the arrangements. Definitely worth picking up, that is if you can find it. |

Now
down to a trio, Wondermints continue to amaze the public with their incredible
songwriting and production skills. Bali could very well be their Sgt. Pepper - it's THAT good. Originally released in 1998, Bali was finally made available domestically in 2000. It was worth the wait. One of my all-time desert island discs, wihtout a doubt. |

A
four year wait between records, and a tour as Brian
Wilson's backing band. At least they kept themselves busy, AND in the presence of a musical genius. It shows on this record, too. Beach Boys melodies and harmonies abound. A great summer Sunday morning CD. |
