In
1982, there was a great single
by an Akron, Ohio area band called The
Action. Back then, it was near impossible to finance anything more than a single, so that's what they did - release a 45 record on their own. Of course, they broke up after awhile. Well, fast forward to 1998, and Mike Purkhiser, the frontman of the Action, formed another band and released this EP. Great Power Pop from one of the unsung capitals of the genre. |

Another
90s Power Pop band that came from out of the blue and quickly disappeared
again. Interesting stuff here, some very catchy tunes and some not so. Still nice to have. |

Great
record! Too bad I was probably the only DJ playing this in 1986
/ 87. I was a DJ on WAUP
88.1 FM (Univeristy of Akron, Akron, Ohio), and I played the single ('Still in Love') relentlessly! Hey, I just tried to do my part. |

Unassuming
Power Pop that no one really noticed, but if Bram never recorded
anything, that gap would sorely be felt. The irony of obscurity rears its ugly head once again. |

great mid-80's Cleveland area band that never got signed nationally. World's

Great
alternative pop from 1992,
when the resurgence of good music in the wake that was grunge gave it the ol' college try. In fact, college radio was where groups like Toad (Judybats, Jellyfish) thrived. |

The
soft rock of the 70s had a retro movement so to speak in the very early
2000s and Toploader was a frontrunner. If you can get past the lead singer sounding as if he's being electrocuted, you'll like this band. It had a certain attraction for me. |

Jason
Falkner and Roger Manning
teamed up for this great nod to early 80's electronic New Wave. Unfortunately only released in Japan, this album sounds right at home with Gary Numan, Japan, Heaven 17, Depeche Mode, and a slew of others. A great concept executed brilliantly, with love and respect for the genre. Splurge and get this - it's worth it! |
